Public Speaking Competition: Lighthouse Student Earns Silver
Our Grade 12 student, Emeraude Assonne, secured the second place at the English Speaking Union National Public Speaking Competition finals, which took place on Thursday, 2 April, at Curtin University in Moka.
The Public Speaking Competition event brought together nine finalists from a wide range of schools, and it initially included 129 students from secondary schools across Mauritius. The level of competition was exceptionally high, with all finalists delivering outstanding speeches and demonstrating excellent confidence and clarity in responding to the judges’ questions.
We are incredibly proud of Emeraude for finishing as runner-up.
This marks only Lighthouse’s second participation in this prestigious competition which was, this year, held in the presence of His Excellency Mr Dharam Gokhool, the President of the Republic of Mauritius.
