London Philharmonia Orchestra Visits Lighthouse
On Friday, 6 February 2026, Lighthouse was honoured to welcome the London Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the Philharmonia Festival in Mauritius. Six members of this world-renowned ensemble chose to visit our school in connection with their educational activities on the island, offering our students a truly memorable musical experience.
The musicians spent a few hours of the afternoon at the school, which included dedicated music training and workshops for students in Grades 3 to 6, followed by a live concert in the Pavilion attended by the whole school. Our learners listened in awe as the London Philharmonia Orchestra played classic and traditional pieces with the cello, the bassoon, and violins. It was a unique opportunity for our students to learn from, engage with, and be inspired by these extraordinary professional musicians. The event was organized and coordinated by our Music teacher, Kevin Alegwa.
