This particular location was chosen because:
- It is central to the northern region and close to important road links such as the highway intersecting the island, the ring road providing quick access to residential areas on the other side of Port Louis and two other bypass roads.
- It is uniquely situated adjacent to a forest and a river.
- It forms part of a diverse residential community, providing easy links to community and giving our students and families an opportunity to make a difference in our immediate area.

Lighthouse aims to be a fulfilling, self-regulating organisation and its campus a place of renewal that will inherently have meaning and purpose, providing children and young people with a stimulating, entrepreneurial, and sustainable environment in which to develop and learn by example.
Essentially the learning neighbourhood is conceived of as a village, containing three interlocking functions: educational, social, and promotion of working lives.
